Due to the rapid population growth of Cambridge, and therefore hopefully our practice, there is a possibility the position may become long term

The position is in our two and a half vet pet animal department, and is for general nursing duties. We have a new purpose built clinic, with current equipment and facilities. We like to think we are a progressive practice, and strive to provide medicine and service of the highest quality. We have a great team , who are all dedicated to , and enjoy striving to meet , the above aim .At the same time , we like to have fun , and anyone sharing the above objectives , is likely to find the clinic a convivial working environment.

With 4 clinics, 14 surgeons, 8 nurses and 10 support staff we cover the whole spectrum of animal health from companion animals to farm livestock, deer, alpacas, and horses.

If you want to work in an enjoyable environment, are rumored to have a great sense of humor, love animals and people, this could be what you have been waiting for. Working closely with our Veterinarians and other team members, your role will be diverse and cover all aspects of vet nursing... from

  •  Taking blood samples, placing iv catheters, calculating and adjusting fluid therapy
  • Surgical/Anaesthetic preparation and "scrubbing in"
  • Dealing with clients face to face
  •  Caring for hospitalized patients
  •  Feeding regimes and more!

You will also be responsible for:

  •  Booking and coordinating the daily activities of our veterinary team
  •  On-selling additional products/services & O.T.C. items to our customers
  •  Providing informative training on products/ services to our customers
  • This is a part time fixed term position, working 30-33 hours per week.

The fixed term is for one year due to maternity cover with the chance it may be permanent at the end of this period.
Prerequisites include either the Vet Nursing Diploma or a minimum of three years experience.  Our clinical standards and attention to patient care are very high: we will need yours to be also.  Clients should feel that they and their animals have been dealt with in a friendly, courteous manner and that all that can be done for them, has been done.  "Going the extra mile" is our philosophy.

We expect that the successful candidate would ideally start on August 7th 2017.
