At the Vets are currently looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We have a full time position available working approximately 31 hours per week.
 

Our busy clinic has been purpose built with separate cat, dog and rabbit wards. We offer many fantastic services including ECG and holter monitoring, radioactive iodine treatment, in house Idexx laboratory equipment and much more.

Your duties will include reception, surgical and hospital duties working alongside 5 Vets and 9 Nurses in a busy environment. You will be expected to work well independently and as part of a team. Weekend work is required.

You should have experience in dispensing and administering medications, running blood results, bandaging and anaesthetic monitoring. IV catheter placement would be favourable. You must have a strong focus on patient welfare and good surgical experience.
 

We are looking for someone who will give our clients fantastic customer service, with a mature and friendly attitude. You should be well presented, self-motivated and being able to multi task is a must.

Veterinary Nurse - Auckland Central, St Lukes, Morningside Drive.

We are looking for a friendly, qualified (diploma or equivalent) veterinary nurse to replace one of our nurses who is leaving to embark on her OE. Minimum 2-3 years experience ideally but not essential for the right candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a 3 vet and 6 nurse companion animal practice in a modern, large and newly refurbished clinic.

St Lukes Veterinary Centre is an NZVA BEST PRACTICE ACCREDITED clinic and aims to provide a high standard of care to our patients. Our dedicated team is assisted by a well equipped in-house laboratory, dedicated surgical theatre, digital radiology and all the usual ancillary equipment in our spacious hospital.

This role will be responsible on alternate weeks for overseeing and managing the caseload in our hospital. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to further develop their career in veterinary nursing and take more responsibility in the day to day running of the clinic. St Lukes Veterinary Centre philosophy is for our nurses to utilize their full range of clinical skills. As well as other general nursing duties you will be placing IV catheters, blood sampling and taking x-rays. You would also be involved in anaesthetising and monitoring patients, dental prophylaxis and scrubbing in for surgery.

Continuing education is encouraged and supported, with courses, online webinars and Vet Nurse Conferences.

We have a large staff room out back with a sunny private courtyard for relaxing during breaks. There is on-site car parking. Westfield St Lukes is a 2 minute drive away. Health & Sports Gym and Pool is 200m down the road opposite the Morningside railway station.

Competitive salary. Rostered weekend work is currently 1 in 4 Saturdays.
