Membership Criteria

Membership of the Association is open to anyone working in the area of animal care, including Zoo Hospital Staff, Rural Veterinary Technicians - in fact anyone interested in animal welfare.

Full Membership

Holds a formal veterinary nursing qualification recognised by the NZVA ANTECH Board. E.g.:

• National Certificate or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Massey)
• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (UCOL)
• British Veterinary Nursing qualification
• US Veterinary Technicians
• Australian Veterinary Nurses

Full members are entitled to vote on matters of importance and hold Office within the Association.

Associate Membership

Is open to all persons not within the "Full Membership" category. Associate members do not have voting rights and may not hold Office within the Association.

Student Membership

 is available to people who enrol on a NZVA recognised Veterinary Nursing, Animal Care or Rural Animal Technologhy course and provide a copy of an acceptance letter.  A discounted membership fee is offered for courses commencing in the 2012 Academic year and the offer ends in September of that year.

Overseas Membership

Australia - NZ$ Price on application
Rest of World - NZ$ Price on application

Criteria for overseas membership is the same as for NZ membership.
