National uniform for veterinary nurses
In
2004 the NZVNA launched a national uniform for veterinary nurses.
The
national uniform was initiated to reflect the growing sense of real
professionalism of veterinary nurses. It makes a veterinary nurse
instantly recognisable to clients, visitors to the practice and to the
public in general. It will allow greater differentiation between staff
as a client will know whether they are talking to a veterinarian, a
veterinary nurse or a receptionist, and may have more faith in the
advice given knowing it comes from a qualified veterinary nurse. The
uniform is voluntary but the response to an informal survey at
conference was 3:1 in favour.
It is easy to wear jade with white piping, tunic and jade trousers,
allowing a full range of movement. It is also very durable, and
washable. Click on graphics for a larger view.
