NZVA/NZVNA Conference 2018

Keynote speaker - Amy Newfield, 

Amy is currently employed at BluePearl Massachusetts in Waltham, Massachusetts as the National Technician Training Manager. In 2003 she became boarded as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. She is currently the president of the Academy of Emergency and Critical Care Technicians.Amy is well published in over 15 subjects, is an international speaker, has received numerous awards and highly involved in her community. She was awarded the 2014 NAVC Technician Speaker of the Year and the 2015 Western Veterinary Conference Speaker of the Year

The 2017 conference was held at the Heritage Hotel, Auckland on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th August.

As it was our 25th Anniversary we celebrated with a masked ball in the Grand Tearoom on Friday evening.IMG 4725-842

Our keynote speaker was Dr David Church.
David is currently Professor of Small Animal Studies at the Royal Veterinary College. He has spent over 30 years in small animal specialist practices and is the author of over 150 peer-reviewed publications on companion animal endocrinology and small animal medicine. He is a long-standing advocate of the benefits of the integrated veterinary team and specifically the role of the veterinary nurse in optimising patient management and quality of life. As a co-founder of VetCompass, he is also passionate about developing mechanisms to define and understand the disorders encountered in general practice and how to optimise their management
