Veterinary Nurse Day

Vet Nurse Awareness Week 2018 – October 8-12

Join us in celebrating all that is good about Veterinary Nurses!

The NZVNA celebrates Vet Nurse Day every year, however this year, we have decided that just one day isn’t enough. Whilst we feel every day of the year should be Vet Nurse Day, we are extended our formal awareness/celebration period to a week, to allow vet nurses and clinics a greater opportunity to celebrate all that is good about veterinary nurses.

Mark the date in your clinic diary now, and start thinking about ways in which you and your clinic can celebrate all that if good about veterinary nurses. Share your ideas with us on Facebook ( and use the hashtag #nzvna2018 when you upload photos to Facebook or Instagram

Vet Nurse Awareness Week aims to educate the public about veterinary nurses and their vital role as part of the veterinary team. It aims to reinforce the value and professionalism of veterinary nurses to veterinarians and the public, and provide an opportunity for veterinary nurses to acknowledge one another for excellent performance in their work.

Celebrate Vet Nurse Awareness Week by decorating your clinic with posters and banners, to bring Vet Nurse Awareness Week to the attention of your clients. Use it as an opportunity to showcase your clinics facilities and services by holding an open day, or hospital tour, in which nurses are featured. Run specific displays or seminars in your clinic, to highlight the many roles veterinary nurses perform.
