Full Membership

Holds a formal veterinary nursing qualification recognised by the NZVA/NZVNA. e.g:

• National Certificate or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
• Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (Massey)
• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (UCOL)
• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Unitec)
• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Wintec)
• National Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (SIT)
• British Veterinary Nursing qualification
• US/Canadian Veterinary Technicians
• Australian Veterinary Nurses

Full members are entitled to vote on matters of importance and hold Office within the Association.

You will be asked to upload your qualification document as proof of qualification during the online enrolment process

Associate Membership

Is open to all persons not within the "Full Membership" category. Associate members do not have voting rights and may not hold Office within the Association.

You will be asked to upload a brief document explaining why you would like to become an Associate member during the online enrolment process

Student Membership

Is available to people who enrol on a NZVA/NZVNA recognised Veterinary Nursing, Animal Care or Rural Animal Technologhy course and provide a copy of an acceptance letter. A discounted membership fee is offered for courses commencing in a new Academic year and the offer ends in September of that year.

Enrolled students are entitled to membership at the discounted fee - please provide a contact at the Polytechnic for confirmation. Student members continuing to study towards a Diploma or by distance learning may renew their membership at the student rate
