We are currently seeking a full time Vet Nurse /Client Relations Officer who has experience in customer service and can show a strong understanding of patient management systems and a general understanding of veterinary products. A background in veterinary nursing, animal care or an avid interest in animal welfare would come in handy! As the front-of-house client relations, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer service experience for our clients and patients.

What does the position entail?

• Dealing with accounts payable and debtor management
• Managing and using Veterinary Practice Management software (EzyVet)

• Managing stock
• Understanding promotions and effectively communicating these to our clients.

Balmoral Vets is a small clinic but has most of the bells and whistles that make life easy.

Hours are flexible and open to negotiation; our current nurse is doing 35.5 hours a week over 5 days. After hours are on an ad hoc basis – virtually non-existent. Two reception staff and an after school cleaner complete the team.

Due to an increasing work load we require an additional Veterinary Nurse to join our great team in our Masterton clinic this summer. Ideally we are looking for a highly motivated individual who possesses the following attributes;

Usually a standard 8 hour day is worked with a set roster being shared with other staff between the hours of 8.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, however there is the potential for the role to be shared between 2 nurses to allow part-time work. There will be a requirement to do weekend on-call as part of a shared roster.

Remuneration is in line with industry rates and will be determined by the skills and experience you bring to the organisation.

Veterinary Nurse - Emergency and Critical Care

We are seeking applications from either qualified veterinary nurses or veterinary technologists to work in our Emergency Centre and Critical Care Unit (ECC), within our Companion Animal Hospital team. This position is a permanent, full-time position working as part of a 24/7 roster.

What we can offer

Within our Companion Animal team, you will be working alongside Emergency Critical Care Specialists and Interns in New Zealand's only Veterinary teaching hospital facility. Massey Vets provides 24/7 Emergency Critical care for Vet clinics throughout the wider Manawatū-Whanganui region. Alongside our Community Practice and Referral clinics, this leads to a both challenging and extremely rewarding nursing environment.

Massey's Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a state-of-the-art, fast-paced facility offering New Zealand's most comprehensive veterinary expertise. We are the only 24-hour pet emergency centre in the central North Island so at times we have a high case load, and our patients require a very high level of nursing care.

About you

The successful applicant will provide specialised, high quality nursing care and technical support as part an 11 person, Emergency Critical Care Nursing team. You will be expected to work across days, nights and weekend shifts on a rotating weekly roster.

Must haves include the following:

• Vet nursing qualification of diploma or above
• Ideally a minimum one year's vet nursing experience, but the more the better
• Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
• Natural empathy toward the cultural, emotional and physical state of our clients and patients alike
• A positive attitude and a passion for critical care and client relations
• A genuine interest in undergraduate education
• Be eligible to work in NZ
