We are pleased to announce the opportunity to join the thriving Community Practice team within the Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) for a 1-year fixed-term period. This position is the key contact for the service and will co-ordinate and facilitate high quality, efficient and timely support and coordination of patient care and case management.
In addition to general veterinary nursing, this position liaises extensively with VTH staff, veterinary and veterinary technology students, referring veterinarians and clients, and SPCA clients and staff. You will be required to display a high level of professionalism, excellent customer service, and represent the VTH and the Community Practice service appropriately and effectively in your regular and timely interactions with the internal and external community.
We are seeking applications from either qualified veterinary nurses or veterinary technologists. The successful applicant will work alongside our current nursing team in our Companion Animal Hospital.
The Companion Animal Hospital provides 24-hour 365 days per year emergency and inpatient care. You will be expected to work an average of 37.5 hours per week and participate in the on-call duty roster for companion animal services.
You should have well-developed organisational skills including the ability to coordinate workflows, determine priorities, meet deadlines and effectively balance competing clinical and administrative demands in a professional manner within a busy environment, be enthusiastic, motivated, service-orientated, have a genuine interest in undergraduate education and possess excellent communication skills.

Veterinary Nurse - Taupo
Vetora Bay of Plenty is excited to offer a permanent full-time position for a Veterinary Nurse to join our Taupō team. We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated nurse, ideally with 1-2 years of experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
You will be working with a supportive, positive, small team in Taupō in a small animal focused clinic. This position will involve working closely with veterinarians and other team members and will have a reception and hospital nurse focus.
Ideally this position requires:
You would be responsible for booking and coordinating the daily activities of our veterinary team, as well as background administration tasks.
On top of this you would be dealing with our clients and patients at the front of the clinic daily, being a friendly, familiar face, and giving information on products and services. We expect that you would be on call for a 1 in 4 after-hours weekend roster including 3 hours on a Saturday morning.
Our clinical standards and attention to patient care are very high, and we expect that yours would be too.
The daily working hours are 8am to 5pm and ideally you would be starting at the end of February or the start of March.
