Senior Veterinary Nurse

VS A&E is an accident and emergency centre, providing after-hours veterinary care to the general public as well as clients of local general practice clinics. Our hospital is a purpose-built surgical and referral facility, with the latest up-to-date equipment. We have everything you will need to provide an excellent standard of care including multi-parameter patient monitors, in-house laboratory, digital radiography and support/consultation from your veterinary and management teams.

We have been operating since April 2017. Since opening, we have established a skilled and passionate accident and emergency team, in an environment with excellent support and facilities. We work really well together but our caseload is increasing, so we are looking for another full time senior veterinary nurse to add to our team.

What we are looking for:

  • You must be a diploma qualified veterinary nurse with at least 2 years of clinical experience, and at least one in a senior role.
  • You do not need emergency experience, but you must have a strong background as a team player and a desire to build your skills in the area of emergency work.
  • You will need to be a clear communicator, providing timely reporting on patient progress to your veterinarian and to your patient’s owners. You should be organised and self motivated, as well as adaptable and with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • You must be comfortable providing support and the opportunity for learning to our junior nursing team.

Barkes Corner Veterinary Clinic
in Tauranga is expanding and we are looking for a Veterinary Nurse to join our team.

Barkes Corner Veterinary Clinic is a spacious, well equipped and purpose built veterinary hospital. We have a complete range of diagnostic, surgical and dental equipment, digital X-ray (including dental), ultrasound and a full laboratory with stem cell and blood bank capabilities. Double prep and surgical rooms are supplied by three consult rooms, in turn feeding from reception and hospital areas, individualised for cats and dogs.

This position covers all aspects of veterinary nursing, from assisting with a wide surgical case load, blood sampling and in house pathology, cannula placement, to animal handling and kennel cleaning. There is also a component of reception duties including answering client enquiries over the phone, updating patient records, making appointments and discharge of patients.

The roster consists of 7 hr shifts (am or pm) across 5 days and 1 in every 3 Saturday mornings 9-12pm.

The position would suit a veterinary nurse with suitable qualifications and experience, or a nurse that is currently working towards certification/diploma

We are a privately owned, mixed animal practice in Whitianga looking for an experienced small animal vet nurse. Whitianga is situated on the beautiful east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula (just over 2 hours from Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga). We are a dedicated team of 3 vets, 3 qualified full-time nurses and 2 part-time administrative staff. We are looking for a qualified nurse preferably with at least 3 years of experience. Training can be given around reception duties although some experience would be an advantage. There is also the opportunity for this position to be Head Vet Nurse if the applicant has enough experience to take on some leadership roles.

We are looking for a passionate, caring, motivated person to join our team with a strong work ethic, great communication skills and a high level of customer service. In return, above average rates of pay and a relaxed friendly work environment are on offer.

Veterinary Nurse required

Norvet Services is a rural mixed practice in Okaihau. We're located in the Bay of Islands 10 minutes away from the Kerikeri airport. We have a position available for a qualified vet nurse who
has experience working in mixed animal practice and loves all things rural. The position is a new position and as such is flexible. Part time or full time can be accommodated.

Duties will include absolutely everything in our small clinic so adaptability and versatility is valued here - including between endless cleaning (sigh but this is vetting ;) vet nursing, stock control, goods receiving, and reception duties. Managing our large animal vet days and stocking vet cars will be expected. Our software system is Vision and familiarity with using Vision would be an advantage.

We have a busy friendly small clinic with 2 happy vets and a top class clinic manager well versed in local people, family connections, and farm locations. We love our clients - in the main - and we'd love a competent busy personality vet nurse to come and join our team.

Locum Vet Nurse Position Available

The Karori Vet Clinic in Wellington is looking for an experienced locum vet nurse. We are a busy small animal clinic located in the western suburbs, with 2 vets and 5 nurses working together each day. We are well equipped with in-house Idexx Lab machines, digital xrays and monitoring machines.

The position is full time for 5 weeks from 19th March to 20th April.

Ideally the nurse would have experience with RX Works but not essential.   There will be no weekend work or public holidays – so would have the whole Easter weekend off.  No on-call work/evening

You would be working with between 2 and 4 other nurses throughout the day as start times are staggered.  There would also be the possibility of ongoing work to fill in for nurses on annual leave or sick leave if interested
